THE REGION OF 100 THEATRES

The Marche Region presents a very high density of historical theaters: between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries almost every municipality had a theater, which are now part of the valuable cultural heritage of the region.

Theatrical buildings are present since the Roman times. In the territory corresponding to the Marche Region there were 35 Roman municipalities, each of them equipped with a theater and an amphitheater.
